About This Spot

Stepping into Sunfield’s Restaurant in Yorkville feels like slipping into a familiar, warmly lit neighborhood diner where the pace is easy and the chatter comes mostly from fellow families and regulars catching up over breakfast or an afternoon meal. Its spacious interior, punctuated by neatly arranged tables and a subtle hum of friendly staff in motion, invites a comfortable, unpretentious rhythm that encourages lingering over plates and conversation.

Here, the morning sun feels at home alongside the comforting aromas of fresh-brewed coffee and cinnamon-spiced French toast, setting the stage for a morning spent savoring the simple joys of a well-loved breakfast. The menu honors classic diner staples—think fluffy buttermilk pancakes and hearty omelets filled with generous, thoughtfully combined ingredients—each dish crafted to feel both nourishing and familiar. Lunchtime shifts to a slightly heartier tone, with offerings like a gyro plate or chopped steak and eggs, underscoring the place’s commitment to family-friendly comfort food with a touch of character.

Service at Sunfield’s unfolds with the steady hum of attentiveness, punctuated by moments where staff check in with easy warmth, helping the space feel less like a stop on your day and more like a pause to recharge. The atmosphere supports this steady, caring flow, revealing glimpses of small, human moments—someone’s cheerful order, the shared smiles over a well-poured cup of coffee, the cozy buzz of a familiar local spot doing what it does best without fuss.

One notices, too, that while the place embraces its role as a morning and midday anchor in the neighborhood, it does so quietly and without flash. There’s no rush here, just a dependable promise of a welcoming table and a meal that speaks to the joy of simple, honest food made with care.

Stopped by on a weekday around 4–5 PM, parking was wide open . Inside felt spacious but tables are a bit too close for me . Ordered a marbled steak —thought it was beef (hopefully ). Taste was honestly 2–3/5; I’ve had much better. The orange juice was a win, tasted fresh, though the glass was small . Service was great —clean tables, tidy place, and the waitress worked like a pro . Steak was $25 —pretty standard. Overall good vibes, but the steak flavor didn’t impress .

Nice spacious dining area with plenty of parking. Staff are friendly and fast. Prices are a little above average but the food is good. Friday fish has 4 pieces and soup included. Bread is served and there is a kids menu too.

Came here on a busy Sunday afternoon. Was presently surprised there wasn’t a wait. Got seated and ordered, service was good, multiple different staff constantly coming by to make sure we were happy. Food was good, I’d rate it on the same level as a dennys but with higher prices. Had a nice family vibe and will definitely be coming back.

The food was decent, but I expected a bit more considering the reviews. The flavors were fine, but nothing impressive. The staff were polite, though not very attentive. With some improvements, this place could offer a much better dining experience.

Their chicken soup and cream of chicken soup are both amazing! My favorite lunch here is the gyro sandwich and my favorite breakfast is the Greek skillet! The servers and owners are very nice every time we have been there - going on 9 years now!

My brother and I dropped in for breakfast this morning and we were treated with great customer service and the food was delicious! We both enjoyed an omelette and the food came very quickly. Less than 10 minutes from the time we ordered. I highly recommend this restaurant!
